American Brilliant Period Cut and Engraved Glass LG Chalice Vase PAIRPOINT

  

This is a stunning, beautifully cut and copper wheel engraved chalice form vase on a standard with large controlled bubble knop on the stem. It is by the Pairpoint Glass Corp, New Bedford, MA. The extravagant flora themed engraving on the body is done in negative effect around the rim, similarly to the repousse silver work occasionally fond on the rims of silver mounted items, the silver work matching the engraving of the glass. The glass is water clear, the form sensuous and sumptuous, and the copper wheel work masterful. This nice find is 12" tall, 6" across the rim, 2.25" the width of the knob, and 4.5" across the foot, which features a radiating star cut on the bottom.
