HAWKES American Brilliant Cut Glass 17.5 Trumpet Vase

  
This listing is for a stunning American Brilliant Period cut glass tall trumpet vase by Hawkes, c. This amazing vase is decorated with multiple cuttings in four vertical panels separated by a slender panel with diamond cuttings extending down the entire panel. The lower third of the vase has an octagonal shape with tiny notch cut edges on each vertical panel and two bands of three horizontal lines. The bottom of the stem is solid glass with a heavy, wide base decorated with multi-point star cutting in the center surrounded by cross-hatch cuttings. The base is nicely balanced in weight and is not top heavy.

Although unmarked, the vase has many of the characteristics of Hawkes cut glass from this period. Measures 17 1/2" high with the top measuring 6 1/4" in diameter and the base measuring 6 7/8 in diameter. This gorgeous vase is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws or repairs. There is a tiny faint chip on the bottom edge that does not show when the vase is upright.

There may be a tiny nick or two in the cut designs, however, we did not find anything else wrong with this beautiful piece other than the expected minor rubbing around the bottom outside edge of base from normal wear.
