SINCLAIRE AMERICAN BRILLIANT PERIOD "ROSE" CUT GLASS HANDLED VASE. The pattern is called "Rose", a wonderfully detailed realistic design of rose blooms, leaves, and thorned branches. The vase is quite large and ovoid in shape with a flared top rim.

The body has 2 applied handles that connect the shoulders to the top rim. Both the handles and top rim have an etched bead design. The vase stands about 7 7/8" tall and it measures approximately 8 3/4" wide to the edges of the handles. The top opening is 4 3/4 in diameter.

This collectible cut glass vase is faintly marked with remnants of the Sinclaire "S-in-a-wreath" logo on the underside edge of the base. The mark is very hard to see but definitely there (see next to last photo). The "Rose" pattern is firmly attributed to Sinclaire and is pictured on page 128 in the book. Encyclopedia of American Cut and Engraved Glass - Volume II: Realistic Patterns.

Sinclaire usually used Dorflinger blanks. This vase is guaranteed to be an original Sinclaire piece from the early 20th century.

It glows a pale green-yellow color under the black light. Condition of this Sinclaire "Rose" vase is EXCELLENT. There is expected shelf wear on the underside of the base and one tiny fleabite along the base rim (see last photo). There are no other chips, cracks, or fleabites.

The glass is clear with no cloudiness or residue. Overall, this handled vase looks fantastic and would make a wonderful addition to any ABP cut glass collection.

Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. All pieces in Sinclaire's Rose pattern are very scarce and I can't find another single example of this particular vase pictured anywhere online. You may never see another one.
