American Brilliant Hand-Cut Glass Vase thick heavy brik multi-faceted Antique

  
At first glance, this recurring'star' pattern has always struck me as a six-sided star, a Jewish thing. Of course, these designs have 8, 10, 12, or more points--not just 6. Sooo, a wee bit of research revealed that a the larger the piece, the more possible points on the'star', b the better the human cutter, the more points, and c these'stars' represent "friendship" or words to that effect. Now I may be'all wet', but no matter--this 5 pound hunk of hand-cut glass doing brilliant cut-glass tricks with the light from one tiny flashlight has pulled me from the fire.

"American Brilliant" is the term applied to such early 1900's pieces, so this is either an authentic 100+-year-old antique vase, or soon will be, and there is no precise accounting for it. That it has survived in such condition is remarkable. It will be a beast of a package, so our estimate of dimensions is on the high/large side.
