Charming Pair Antique mid/late 1800s Cut Glass Gilt Floral Vases Rose Design
Charming Pair Antique mid/late 1800s Cut Glass Gilt Floral Vases Rose Design. Presented is a lovely pair of antique cut glass bud vases, dating to the mid to late 1800s. These vases are continental European, but we are not sure of the origin more specifically, though the style and quality is very reminiscent of high end Bohemian glass makers like Lobmeyr. The vases are made in a sort of cornucopia form, standing on a round pedestal foot, with rich gilt detailing around the rims, feet, and lower portions of the cornucopia. The bodies of the vases are skillfully cut and etched with a lush deign of blooming roses and rose buds, with detailed leaves and thorny stems surrounding. This pair of vases is in excellent overall condition.
There is some minor wear to the gilding of the rims, but the gilding is overall intact. There is a tiny chip to the underside of the foot on one vase, as pointed out in the tenth photograph.
Otherwise, There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. Each vase stands about 5 ½ inches tall and about 5 inches in diameter at the top. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution.
