We offer a late nineteenth century hand blown, intaglio engraved, ruby red glass trumpet vase. In the manner of traditional Bohemian glassware. The vase is faceted with ten panels and features clear glass intaglio engraved decoration of an antlered stag standing guard over a grazing doe. Three trees aside the deer climb to the top of the vase. The stem of the vase and the recessed upper rim are engraved through the ruby red glass with grape vines.Unmarked, the trumpet vase is of the finest quality with engraving comparable to a master glass cutter. Clear areas of the glass show a green fluorescence under an ultraviolet lamp. The trumpet vase measures 4 9/16" in diameter at the top, 5 7/8" in diameter at the base with a height of 22 3/8. The vase is crafted with thickly blown glass and the vase weighs 4 pounds 3.7 ounces. The trumpet vase is in very good pristine vintage condition with normal surface scratches to the base indicative of age. There are no fleabites, chips, cracks, breaks or repairs.
