Vintage Egermann Czech Ruby Red Cut to Clear Floral Grapes 8 Vase, Hard to Find

  
This vintage Egermann vase from the Czech Republic is a beautiful piece of art. The ruby red glass is expertly crafted with a cut to clear floral grapes pattern and glossy finish.

Measuring 8 inches in height and 4.75 inches in width, this vase is a hard to find item. This specific vase was displayed as an art piece, but it could be used as a functioning vase if desired.

The original sticker remains on the vase - it is in MINT condition (no chips, cracks, or signs of wear). "Egermann" is also incised in the base of the vase (see final picture). Information from the Egermann Company website. The Egermann company, which dates back to the early 18th century, still specialises in hand-decorated glass. Egermann's main and most famous invention, dating from 1832, is the'red colouring' process, whereby the deep ruby red colouring on the surface of each piece is decorated with baroque patterns using cutting and engraving processes.

Egermann specialises exclusively in the production of hand-decorated glassware. Glassware at Egermann is still produced using traditional Bohemian techniques. Polished glass-crystal is made by a very demanding and expensive decorative technology. After the first production step (glass blowing), this semi-finished product is covered with another layer of coloured glass. The larger part of the coloured layer is then deburred (the coloured glass forms the so-called "FAZETS") and the crystal surfaces are polished with polishing wheels.
